Michael Melville
BBSc BArch(Hons) ANZIA

Michael has extensive experience in delivering commercial and educational projects and understands the procedural frameworks that govern such work. 

Michael began his career with JASMAX, and then John Mills Architects before becoming a director of CGM Architects [Comeskey Grant and Melville], a 30 year old practice which brought a wealth of experience to the Foster+Melville amalgamation.

Currently Michael is the Project Architect for the campus redevelopment for Whitireia Polytechnic in Porirua, of which stage one of three stages is complete. 

Michael will bring the following expertise to the team:
•Firsthand experience delivering projects around New Zealand for a nationally branded company, FMG
•18 years’ experience in the construction industry
•Excellent communication and public speaking skills
•Proven experience working with and leading multi-disciplinary design teams
•Excellent design skills
•High level knowledge of current NZBC and RMA issues
•Visual presentation skills
•An engaging personality

Angela McCarthy-Foster
NZCD(Arch) BArch(Hons) ANZIA

Angela has completed a number of large new buildings and commercial fitouts and is our key designer and client liaison for a number of projects. Prior to joining forces with Foster+Melville Architects Angela’s commercially focused practice completed the Museum Apartments, a $30m new building on Wakefield Street, along with a number of smaller new buildings and interior fit outs.

Angela has also completed office planning and developments for INL, Public Trust, and Labour and Immigration Departments.

Angela will bring the following expertise to the team:
•Extensive experience delivering complex and detailed projects ie: Museum Apartments (32 apartments and 90 hotel units linked to the Museum Hotel ) and the co-ordination of all trades for the refurbishment of the Museum Hotel.
•20 years’ experience in the construction industry
•Excellent communication and public speaking skills
•Clear understanding of identity management
•Proven experience working with and leading multi-disciplinary design and delivery teams
•Excellent design skills
•High level knowledge of current NZBC and RMA issues
•Visual presentation skills
•The ability to engender a cohesive team
